Our Mission
Camp Tobago is dedicated to helping develop Future Leaders for Tobago.
Camp Tobago is a free One Day Summer Camp programme for 12 & 13 year-old Tobagonians to learn leadership skills & gain access to role models and mentors in all fields & walks of life from the local community & the TT Diaspora.
At Camp Tobago young Tobagonians will learn more about our island & the opportunities available to them, while simultaneously developing their communication, networking, & leadership skills.
LOCAL ROLE MODELS & TOBAGO DIASPORA MENTORS
We are delighted to announce we have commitments from accomplished local Trinbagonians and our overseas TT Diaspora, who will participate and share their own personal and professional stories, as well as answer questions about their successful trajectories and how our young people might look at their future in Tobago.
Within the Tobago Diaspora, we also have secured folks who can continue to mentor young people who are interested in on-going mentorship, as it relates to trade school, university, and job applications.

Our Camp Tobago Day
THE DAY’S AGENDA
Camp Tobago Morning
Welcome Campers!
Arrival. Name Tags. Snacks. Meet your Counsellor and Team Building Facilitator. Receive your Leadership Packet.
TEAM BUILDING EXERCISE – LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES
The day's activities will be structured similarly to the Model United Nations programme but instead of solving global problems together, we'll work on solving three major challenges on Tobago:
• Tourism
• Environment
• Public Safety
The thirty campers will be divided into three teams of ten. Each group will draw straws. Short straw gets first pick of subject challenge etc. and campers are divided into:
• Team Tourism
• Team Environment
• Team Public Safety
Team-Building Leadership Challenge: After reading through materials in their Leadership Packets, each Camp Counsellor will work with their group to formulate their analysis and develop a group presentation, which will occur before lunch. Prompts will Include:
What ideas do they have for how to tackle the challenge if they were in charge? What policies would they keep? What would they change? What are the top three things their team recommends that are needed in Tobago to make life better in this challenge topic?
The entire camp then reconvenes before lunch to make their Team Presentations to the entire Camp followed by a facilitated discussion to simulate how policy is developed and executed successfully.
LUNCH
All the members of the THA and Tobago’s two MPs will be invited to join us for lunch. Our guests will be escorted to lunch tables where they are encouraged to interact with our campers and hear about the challenges they worked on in the morning and the ideas they have for improving Tobago.
Camp Tobago Afternoon
NETWORKING WITH ROLE MODELS & MENTORS
In the afternoon, we will welcome our role models and mentors to Camp Tobago. We are extremely grateful for the many outstanding and accomplished women and men, who have agreed to participate in Camp Tobago. Some of our role models are well-known nationally and locally. Every one of our role models is well-known and well-respected in their respective field. And everyone who has committed to speaking with our youth is very excited to be a part of Camp Tobago!
CAMP TOBAGO FINALE TBD
We have an agreement from one of Trinidad & Tobago’s most celebrated musical artists to join us at the end of the day to talk about how he overcame challenges throughout his life to become an internationally recognized musical icon.
